GallantWEB is also a very cost-effective and easy to use Network
Attached Storage (NAS) device. GallantWEB comes with an internal
hard disk of 10GB - 40GB. That is more than enough storage space
for e-mail messages and Web site contents. GallantWEB makes the
extra hard disk capacity available for sharing by users on the network.
GallantWEB supports a shared storage folder which every user can
read and write, a read-only folder which every user can read but
only the administrator can write, and a personal folder which is
protected for each individual user. GallantWEB has a Web-based user
interface to manage user accounts. Every user account has a user
name and a password. Users can simply log on to their Windows computers
using their user name and password, and get access to the common
shared folders and their personal folder.

On the Local Area Network (LAN), GallantWEB appears as a shared
resource to all Windows computers. Users can easily access files
stored on the GallantWEB using either a network path name such as
"\\GallantWEB\shared", or a mapped network
drive such as "N:"
Since the GallantWEB is an Internet server appliance, the storage
function goes beyond the LAN and is available over the Internet.
The Virtual Private Network (VPN) function makes all the shared
storage spaces available to remote users on the road or in a branch
office. The built-in FTP server provides another way for authorized
users to access their personal folders.
